The energy modernization of existing buildings is of great importance for the achievement of climate targets. The basis of the refurbishment work, e.g. for a subsequent insulation of the building, is an accurate as-built analysis, this can be created based on 3D laser scanning. The 3D laser scanner digitally records the building with all projections and recesses of the facade, walls and niches, roof overhangs, windows and doors and all other details in a millimetre fine grid. A digital twin is created, which can be evaluated in CAD software with classic 2D plans such as facades, elevations, floor plans and sections or as a 3D model, which can be modelled natively in Autodesk Revit and ArchiCad Graphisoft. With the help of the digital representation of the existing facade, the material quantities can be determined precisely and the costs calculated. This digital information supports the energy consultant in calculating the necessary energy measures for the targeted savings and in considering public funding programs.
